Club Richelieu Grand-Sault has been established in Grand Falls since 1952. In 1953, the club started an annual fundraiser called the “Guignolée”. This activity occurs during the holiday season every year and has a goal of providing nourishment and gifts to local families that require assistance with the necessities to ensure that an enjoyable Christmas is available to them.
In 2023, Club Richelieu helped 230 local families in the Grand Falls, Saint-Léonard and Saint-André communities. As we are all aware, the food costs have been increasing year over year and the ability to cover the costs required for this activity is becoming more of a struggle every year. As in previous years, any surplus is donated to local schools to assist in the hot breakfast programs for students. This year, Club Richelieu have already donated $6,000 to six schools in the area.
There are two ways to donate to the “Guignolée”. You can send an etransfer to clubrichelieugs@gmail.com – receipts provided upon request. You can also donate to this worthy cause from the comfort of your vehicle on Saturday, November 30th from 10 am to 2 pm, when Club Richelieu will be setting up stations in the region.
There will be strategic locations to accommodate the large territory they have always covered door-to-door. The donation stations are as listed below:
· Canadian Tire - Madawaska Road, Grand Falls
· Atlantic Superstore/NB Liquor – Madawaska Road, Grand Falls
